It’s Round 14 of the Betfred League One, and here is a breakdown of all the action coming your way on Sunday!
Table toppers Oldham will take on Hunslet at Boundary Park. Sean Long’s men will be looking to maintain their place at the top of the league table and have won their last two home meetings against their opponents.
Hunslet’s last away victory against Oldham came in 2019, and although they suffered a disappointing defeat in Round 13, they had been on an impressive five-game winning streak.
Cornwall are at home for the fourth time in a row, as they welcome North Wales Crusaders to Colwyn Bay. The Choughs have only won once against the Crusaders in history – a tight 38-40 victory in 2023.
It’s a second trip to The Memorial Ground for North Wales this season, who beat Cornwall 16-40 in Round 2 of the competition.
Over in Cumbria, Workington will host Keighley. The Cougars find themselves hunting down top spot – just points difference separating themselves and Oldham.
Town haven’t won since the end of April but have come close on numerous occasions. And while Keighley could make it five wins on the spin with a victory in Round 14, it is Workington who remain undefeated in their last six home meetings with the Cougars.
Finally, Newcastle and Midlands will go head-to-head at Gateshead, and it will be Midlands’ first trip to Newcastle since their club’s rebranding as the Hurricanes.
Previously, Newcastle had won all five home meetings with the then ‘Coventry Bears’ – can they keep a hold of this record? It’s going to be a tough ask for a side still seeking their first win in 2024, as their last two meetings at the Alexander Stadium this year saw the Hurricanes come away with mammoth 66-4 and 70-6 victories.
There have been a number of changes to kick-off times of matches taking place in the Betfred Championship and Betfred League One at the weekend, with England Football playing at 5pm on Sunday in the last 16 of the Euros.
